BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER!

MOOL IS HOSTING A FAMILY FRIENDLY, FUN PACKED COMMUNITY FESTIVAL TO CELEBRATE EID AL FITR (THE END OF RAMADAN). EVERYONE IS WELCOME!

When:  Saturday 8th June

Where: Dumfries YMCA Centre, Lochside Road, Dumfries

Time:  12 – 4pm

Cost: Free! (but some stalls will have goods to purchase)

Massive Outpouring of Love is joining forces with The YMCA, Dumfries and Galloway Interfaith Group, D&G Arab Association and members of the local community, to hold a community peace festival to celebrate Wee Eid on Saturday 8th of June.

“All around the world the entire community – Muslim and non Muslim– come together to celebrate the end of Ramadansays our Volunteer Coordinator Jay Rubinstein “and we’d love to continue that tradition here in Dumfries and Galloway. Eid al Fitr’s focus is on children with them receiving clothes and toys, so we are coming together to deliver a fun filled event for all to enjoy.”

Everyone is welcome regardless of faith, background, age or race. There will be activities for all with games by Let’s Get Sporty, workshops with Nest Nurturing Futures, storytelling, Laughter Workshops, face painting by The Fun Factory, Yoga, Reiki, and DG Science Festival will be running a drop in Slime Lab.

It’s a great opportunity to have some fun, learn about the reasons behind Ramadan and Eid, and for the whole community to get together and make new friends.

“We’re hoping to showcase a variety of local musical talent too, so get in touch if you’d like to play and give people the chance to dance!

If you represent a charity or community organisation then you are welcome to have a stall for free to come and spread the word about the work you do. If you are a maker, seller or business owner, stalls are £10.

We want to make this a special as possible so if you would like to help bring this event to life, sponsorship opportunities are available. Just message hello@mool.scot for more details or contact via our FB Page.

Food plays a big part of our celebration, so there will be some delicious dishes to taste, but if you love to cook and would like to bring a dish to share then that would be great. Please get in touch for more details.
