Volunteer Registration MOOL Volunteer Registration If you are human, leave this field blank. Name Organisation/Company (If appropriate) Address Address 2 City/Town County Post Code Country Email Address Phone Number Please list your skills in the box below: Do you speak any languages other than English? We want you to enjoy volunteering and to make the best use of your time. Please let us know which areas you'd be most comfortable helping with. It doesn't commit you to any time or activity, so please tick as many as suit you.. Depot TeamSending aid overseas is at the heart of what we do. We need people to sort and pack donations as we get them. If people want to be part of this team but can’t make it into the depot on a Monday or Friday morning, they can still help by writing notes of support and hope to be packed in. Housing teamPeople on this team will be contacted when we have the opportunity to take the unfurnished houses assigned by the council for VPRS refugees and make them into welcoming homes. Jobs include painting, fixing curtains, assembling beds, transporting and arranging furniture and cleaning and decorating. Befriending & Orientation (working directly with Refugees)Please note this will be subject to screening processes and security checks. We will also need to pass your details on to the agencies dealing with families when they arrive. Helping with everyday conversational EnglishWhen families come here, they are given access to formal courses organised through the college but it’s very useful to have someone who can visit them in their homes and help them deal with everyday conversational language. EventsHelping to organise, decorate, and publicise events (could involve finding suitable venues, organising carsharing) FundraisingComing up with and running fundraising activities – could be creating items for sale, running pop-up shops, sponsored participants in other events, contacting organisations to seek out funding MediaBuilding up our social media presence to ensure that people are aware of what we are doing and getting them to participate in our activities. It also includes working on our website to keep the information up to date and publicising upcoming events. Education and outreachGoing into schools and other places to run sessions explaining why people come here and dispelling myths and misunderstanding. We will provide training and session structures Ticking any of the boxes doesn't commit you to anything! It just means that we contact you when a possibility comes up. It would be helpful if you could give us an idea of the kind of times for volunteering that suit you. Eg, are you able to commit to regularly coming in to Dumfries, or can you only do occasional stints? Are you able to sometimes put in full days? Are there particular days which do, or don't, work for you? How far are you willing to travel? How would you prefer to be contacted (phone, email, letter)? That's it for now! Thank you for your time; someone will be in touch soon. Please leave any other questions or comments below. Remember, you can get in touch any time via firstname.lastname@example.org or our Facebook page. Don't forget, if you do any voluntary work with MOOL, please log your hours here: http://www.trackitforward.com/site/massive-outpouring-love this will really help us demonstrate the hard work that has been put in and make a strong case for MOOL to continue. Thanks!
