We pride ourselves on there being a place for everyone at MOOL and so would love your help, whether that be on a regular or ad hoc basis, and whatever skills you can share.
We need lifters, shifters, sorters, painters and gardeners; people who are good at fundraising, blagging, building; graphic design, webheads, drivers, and people to simply come in and have a blether over a cup of tea on the darker days to help us over the humps. If you prefer to volunteer from home, there are loads of ways in which you can help too, even just committing to sharing Facebook posts and event links really makes a difference, so please get in touch and join the MOOL family.
Volunteering is a great way to make new friends, discover new strings to your bow, and offers you a route to genuinely helping people in need, both locally and those affected by the refugee crisis.
We are delighted to announce that our Dumfries Depot is now ‘family friendly’. People of all ages are welcome to come and help sort and pack donations, but we must emphasise that it is still a depot, with cars coming and going, and pointy bits here and there, so keeping an eye on your children is strongly advised! We even have a dedicated children’s play space, and baby changing facilities available.
The Depot and Bathroom are also accessible by wheelchair, and there are plenty of places where those less able can sit but still help out and be part of the team.
Our opening times at the moment are Monday and Friday between 9:30 and 12:30, but we are hoping to extend these and add in evening sessions in the not too distant future.
We are in the process of formalising our Volunteer Program so if you’d like to help you can:

On the off chance that you are cash rich but time poor, financial donations do the most good and are always gratefully received.
You can donate via Paypal using paypal.me/mool – If you want to donate a specific amount, just add that number to the end of your link. For example, use paypal.me/mool/25 to ask for £25.00 (but fees will be deducted from your donation).
More effective is to donate via bank transfer to MOOL’s Business Account: 80-22-60 14196360, which means all your money will go directly to helping people in need.
If you’d like your money to go to a specific item (sleeping bags, phone credit, fuel), then please indicate this in the notes/reference section when you donate.
We look forward to hearing from you!
